The Fatima Decade Prayer

On July 13, 1917 Our Lady of Fatima asked the three shepherd children to recite
“The Decade Fatima” prayer at the end of each decade of the rosary. In 1930, the Catholic Church allowed the public to use the prayer. I feel there are  millions of Catholics that would like prayers to reflect the age we are in.

I wonder if  ninety two years is more than enough time to make some changes in some of the Catholic prayers?  ” It seems ancient and the prayers of yester year are not connecting with many people, espy the younger generation. Countless are leaving the Catholic Church for various reasons but what if we

begin by just updating some of our prayers, this may be a way to help others connect?.” The original “Decade Fatima Prayer,”, O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy. I propose, O my Jesus, forgive us from separating from you. In separation, we forget that love, joy, peace, forgiveness is our divine right. Hell, separation from God. Heaven, pure love. Help us to re-connect to our true source, Our Lord God. Amen

“Just like we changed the Mass from Latin to English, isn’t it time to re-look at some of our prayers?  I was taught in Catholic School that hell was fire and brimstone with devils holding pitch forks ready to harm you
if you committed the smallest infraction. Who, these days, connects to that? The unbelievable fear placed espy on the young really wasn’t a healthy way to teach religion. It was a good example of the pulse of time we were in. Fear was a popular way to control the masses. Jesus’s ministry wasn’t about fear. It was stated that Our Lady had the three children of Fatima recite the Fatima prayer which could of been their own interpretation of what they were taught way back ninety two years ago.”
